Body and Mind

Together, we mold a resilient future, sculpted by unity, understanding, and hope.
— Andrea Cooke, Coordinator of Macon Mental Health Matters

Tomorrow marks the very last day of August!

This month has been extra hot and extra dry, but we are in the middle of hurricane season! The weather should be behind us tomorrow, but as always, please keep an eye on our social media to make sure that it is safe weather for all of us!

As we head into September, we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Macon Mental Health Matters to continue food access within the city of Macon. While our primary focus is Napier Heights, we truly believe that everyone has a right to fresh food.

While this initiative is focused on mental health, our belief is that no one can focus on their mental health while they are hungry! Our goal is to make sure there is access to fresh food at each of these events on Saturday and to provide information on food access within those communities.

Macon Mental Health Matters
Macon Mental Health Matters is a community-driven initiative that seeks to prioritize mental well-being among the residents of Macon. Recognizing the pressing need for accessible mental health resources, this organization strives to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote understanding surrounding mental health issues. Through various programs and events, they aim to educate the community about mental health, provide support for individuals in need, and advocate for better mental health care services. Macon Mental Health Matters firmly believes that every individual deserves the opportunity to seek help, and they work tirelessly to ensure that mental health is given the attention it deserves in Macon. By fostering open conversations and building a supportive network, they aim to create a healthier and more empathetic community for all.

Ms. Eva is back! She is bringing plain and Old Bay boiled peanuts! She also has her dried herbs, chai spice blend, and poultry seasoning; and plant starts for your fall garden! Loy is bringing peaches, plums (five different varieties!), watermelon (these could be some of the last ones, so be sure to come get them!), tomatoes, onions, muscadines and scuppernongs, mangoes, and peppers. He likes to surprise us with a few extras, too, so be sure to come on out and see what he has!

Don’t forget your jams, jellies, and breads; cakes and cookies! Rosa Ray’s, Ms. Shirley, Marie’s Baked Goodies, and Bon Bon Bakery all have a wonderful selection of baked goods!

We are steadily growing, so if you would like to be a part of our community of vendors, let’s talk! We would love to have you! Our goal is to provide food for the body and the soul, so if you are a gardener or farmer or an artist or crafter or baker, you are welcome at our market! Click here for the vendor application link
